World’s First Breakup Letter
Archaeologists from Liberty University discovered the world’s first break up letter. The researchers explained that the letter belonged to the king of Babylon, Nabonidus.
The tablet (letter) was discovered last year in southern Iraq. It was written in the 6th century BC. In the letter, King Nabonidus leaves his concubine because of her betrayal: “The news of your meeting with my childhood friend Nisaba reached me from the Upper Euphrates. I’m ruined by this betrayal because you’re one of my favorite concubines. You have until the end of the month to pick up your linen shawls and sandals or I will donate them to the temple of the Moon God.”
